Description
A chair sits on an empty pier, weathering the hot summer sun, the blowing winds, and the downpour of rains. It bears the battle scars of summers past and is ready for the new season. I had though of removing those "scars" to make this image into something pretty and neat, but with the American flag flying proudly next to this empty chair, it called to mind all those men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country so that we can sit at our computers, shoot our cameras, or simply live each day in safety. And so, the nicks and scratches remain to remind me never to forget...

Thanks Beverly. For me, taking the picture is so much easier than writing a good narrative! LOL
