Chicagoland winters can be quite blustery along the lakefront. This lonely pine tree gives an indication of which way the winds blow with the trunk bending toward the south. At first look, the tree seemed to be missing branches on the left side. Further investigation revealed that they had been “combed over” to the right! A little bit of Lake Michigan can be seen just over the rocks on the right side. You can find this lonely pine tree in Evanston, Illinois, which is just north of the big city
