Description
Glacier National Park in Montana is a beautiful part of the world. It's majestic mountains, deep blue skies, and crystal clear waters draw many tourists to its lands. The Mountain Pine Beetle infested the lands back in the 1970s. The devastation to the land continues. Acres upon acres of spindly spikes, which were pine trees before becoming food for the beetle (also known as the bark beetle), can be seen throughout the park. Although the ruin is massive, it is, in itself, a natural beauty. Seasonal fires set by lightening, or the carelessness of man have helped to stem the continued destruction.
