Description
The black hills of South Dakota are so named because the forestry surrounding the mountain ranges make them look black. In the mid 1840s, gold was discovered and mined from these ranges. Jutting up into the sky, this range is dressed in black and golden colors as if taunting gold miners to take their chance at getting her gold. Today, Black Hills Gold is still used in jewelry and is very unique in color. It is not the usual bright yellow color but more of mixed color of yellows and oranges
