Description
As I was out walking with camera in hand, I found this old cottage style house in the Lake Como area that had been neglected and allowed to go to ruin. It's upper story window had a piece of board slapped across it in what appeared to be a "quick fix" of a broken window. As soon as I saw this "correction", my very first thought was that the window was "embarrassed" by its disrepair and the board was hiding its sadness. I actually felt bad for this no longer occupied home. In its heyday, I am sure the rooms were filled with laughter and the windows gleaming with evening light from within. Now, its broken windows, peeling paint, and unkempt grounds evoke a feeling of sadness and loneliness.
