Description
Florida is a haven in winter for many species of Terns. It was very early spring down in the Everglades when I took this shot so there were still some wintering terns about. Since terns tend to interbreed, I was only able to definitely identify the tern on the right, which is called a Caspian tern. The orange legs identify it as a Caspian but the beak is that of a Elegant tern. The head feathers are of another tern called the Royal tern. It is very possible that the one on the left is a young Caspian tern as they do have orange legs and their beaks are not quite as red, just not as long. It would seem that the two are in a discussion of some kind. Maybe between father and son dont you go anywhere! Im going anyway. You cant stop me! Enjoy.

Thanks. They look small in this shot but actually are a pretty decent size.
