In Texas, there is a ranch called the Cadillac Ranch. The owner permitted two artists in 1974 to build a sculpture using ten Caddies ranging from 1949 to 1963. They half-buried the Cadillacs and aligned them like the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. In 1997, the art display was moved from its original sight in a wheat field just outside the city of Amarillo to its current spot just off Route 40. The Cadillac pictured here has the pronounced fin on the back, which eventually died off the way of all old cars with character. The cars are periodically painted over but are never free of graffiti longer than 24 hours. This is a fabulous capture - love the treatment and the cows in the background! L/F
Kathleen Scanlan replied:
Thanks Rebecca. It was a little weird walking around the cows, trying to capture these cars without stepping in cow pies!

Thanks Natalie. It was quite a site to take in. And of course, we added our “graffiti” to one of the cars, too.

Thanks Natalie. The wider shot shows the cattle walking all around the cars!
