Traveling through Gettysburg Pennsylvania, it is not difficult to feel the anguish, horror, turmoil, and destruction that took place here during the Civil War. The Civil War markers indicate where soldiers from both sides fell, where hand to hand combat took place, and where the landscape was forever changed. This bird of prey boldly perched on one such headstone, never flinching or moving when people walked by. It was as if he was standing guard over the sacred fields where men fought and died for their beliefs.
