Description
The original of this image caught my eye because of the farmer's
quick fix" of the upper window of the structure. The two long boards running down the "face" of the barn added character to what would have been a plain barn. I added texture to change the original mood of the image from dark, rainy day to one of timelessness and beauty. I loved the Queen Anne's Lace flowers in the foreground which added just a touch of elegance to the image.
If you look into the barn through the bottom windows, you can almost see what the farmer stores in his building. With the old silo sitting silently to the right, and the outbuilding to its left, one gets the impression this was and probably still is a busy, productive farm with the family getting up in the early morning hours to tend to the animals, the farmer getting his equipment ready to till the fields. We should all be thankful to these hard working people as they put food on our tables every day.
This barn is located in rural Wisconsin just north of Lake Geneva on Rt NN. I travel this road often when visiting the state to try can capture the essence of the area.
