Artist's Description
This rock formation was formed from the lava flow from the Kilauea volcano located on Hawaii Island (or The Big Island as many call it due it being the largest of the Hawaiian Islands.) It erupted in 1990 and engulfed a road on its way to the sea. In its path was the town of Kalapana which was completely destroyed. Driving on the Island is an adventure as you come across roads that are shut down in spots and new roads created along the edge of the flow. This piece of rock reminded me of a nice, juicy steak, cooked to perfection.

This is cool! It is very deceiving... I can't tell if you're in an airplane looking at a mountain, or standing on a rock looking down. Very nice!
