Artist's Description

This is one of my growing collections of buildings forgotten by their owners. Taking back roads, you usually will find farms or just homes slowly being reclaimed by nature when the owners abandoned them. This particular house is right along the road on Highway H just outside Phillips Wisconsin. Over forty years ago, my parents had looked at this building as a possible summer get away place. Instead, they found vacant land and built their own log cabin. Since that day so many years ago, this house has laid vacant, slowly falling apart but still standing

About Kathleen Scanlan

Kathleen Scanlan

This photographer has taught herself through life to look for beauty in the smallest of things and stand in awe of nature's natural beauty. Her work reflects how she see the world on any given day. You will find color prints, textured prints, and digitally altered prints as well as prints devoid of color. Prints that evoke feelings of simpleness, sympathy, warmth, passion, joy, as well as moodiness. The camera takes the photo. It is what the photographer does with it that makes it a piece of art.
