Description
The Orange County Fair in California always has a wide variety of animals on display. This particular Llama seemed to have just woke up from a name. You can still see the pieces of the straw bed in his fur.
Llamas are domesticated animals used for meat and pack animals in Andean Cultures. In addition to the above, the wool of these animals is soft and lanolin-free which when used in clothing, not only is warm for comfortable to wear.
The amazing thing is how intelligent these animals are. One only has to use repetition a few times for simple tasks and they respond very well. As pack animals, Llamas can carry around 30% of their bodyweight. Although originally utilized in South America, this animal now makes its home in the United States with approximately 160,000 residing there. Quite a trek for this pack animal!
