Artist's Description
Theodore Roosevelt National Park has protected wild horses such as this one since the mid 1940s. Every year there is a roundup to help maintain the status quo in the park. The wild horses are sold which helps to keep the size of the herd inside the park at a manageable number. This one was busy munching on lunch when we passed by and certainly was not at all intimidated by people or cars. Wild horses are only found in the South end of the National Park.
